Tracks [2015]

After an incredible (and sometimes painful) adventure and an inflexible, difficult character study, "Tracks", directed by John Curran, as it has been judged by some providers of the conventional wisdom of the film as the lesser of two films by women-in-the-wild open this fall. I have not seen the photo that are made over the already-know-what rumor, that being 'Wild', with Reese Witherspoon and as this film, adapted from a true story, but I can tell you all what your film plans, Miss 'Tracks' on your aesthetic pleasure of danger. It is a truly remarkable theater experience.

The film tells the story of Robyn Davidson, who the Viewer is introduced in the mid-1970s. In the narrative, Davidson (played with attractive hints of humility and incredible resistance by Mia Wasikowska) describes his disenchantment with the company of others, and fatigue is to suffer the ravages visited "my gender and class". In more conventional films in which a young woman embarks on a solitary journey of more than 2,000 miles through a desert, there are probably many of Hoo - ja in the investigation of self-esteem and spirituality. Not here. Wasikowska Robyn just wants to be alone with their camels and his beloved dog.

Person does not easy for her. First, you must learn how to train camels. At the edge of the Australian desert, she interacts with several hostile characters and animals, before reaching all his retinue. Once it has, fell into account that needs funding. Launches a chronicle of his journey to "" National Geographic magazine, and go for it. The problem is that a photographer want to quit periodically in order to take the pictures that the magazine was often poorly known. No, not these images. In any case, both to be alone.

The photographer is a friendly guy named Rick, played by Adam Driver with none of the idiosyncrasies of caliber, actor who has brought to their roles in the series of television 'Daughters' or their bit of the Coen brothers 'within Llewyn Davis." Rick is a good guy and is a little intrigued by Robyn, as many people known as prepared and then explore the desert. "You don't have to be unhappy to die there," advised a skeptic. Additional to that gets output, presented cases more than bad luck, but also revelations about its past talking to the restriction that grows on his trip. But the trip is not only the catharsis of Robyn. On the road that defines his own idea of freedom, by its very existence, a manifestation of his fairly radical philosophy. Romance, could have referred between Rick and Robyn never - realized Yes, spoiler alert, she doesn't sleep with the type, but the idea, does it mostly for him. The unwavering character Curran, writer Marion Nelson and Wasikowska create shutdown-Davidson makes it is not comfortable to the viewer but presented it a challenge.

"Tracks" is not falsely interested by flattering his audience, but are interested in charming: images of nature presented on the big screen by Director and cinematographer Mandy Walker are impressive; striking and poetic, but very different from the "bath of crowd", the classic exploration outback 1971 that this film really do not remember much despite a few parallel themes. It is a compliment. 'Values' with a taste, a resonance all its own. Curran, will return to the continent where he began his film career after a period in the United States, which saw him make the drama of too poco-visto "Pierre" seems to me that a Director always underestimated with a distinctive voice and vision: both out loud and in this film clearly
